Winners of the 2007 Individual Artist Awards November 14th, 2007
On July 9, 2007, The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation honored the winners of the seventh annual Individual Artists Award. The recipients of the award in the “Established Artist” category are Gaylen Gerber and Judy Ledgerwood. The winner in the category of “Emerging Artist” is Philip von Zweck. Each artist received an unrestricted award of $10,000 in recognition of their work.
Grant Decisions June 13, 2007 November 14th, 2007
The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation held a board meeting on June 13, 2007 and approved the following grants (all grants are to Chicago-area organizations unless noted otherwise).
For Arts:
1. Illinois Arts Alliance Foundation: $15,000 for general operations.
2. Kelly + Yamamoto Productions (Greenbrae, California): $15,000 in a one-to-one match for an hour-long documentary film on the Albany Park Theater Project.
3. National Museum of Mexican Art: $10,000 for the Sor Juana Festival.

The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation held a board meeting on March 28, 2007 and approved the following grants (all grants are to Chicago-area organizations unless noted otherwise).
For Arts:
1. Arts Work Fund for Organizational Development: $25,000 for re-grants to arts & culture organizations.
2. Sundance Institute (Beverly Hills, California): $24,500: $15,000 of which would support the July Theatre Lab in Utah, and $9,500 of which would support the first-ever Chicago convening.
For the Built Environment:

In October, 2006, The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation held a board meeting and approved the following grants for the MacArthur Fund for Arts & Culture at The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation:

1. The Chicago Sinfonieta: $15,000 for the Audience Development Initiative.
2. Lawyers for the Creative Arts: $20,000 for each of two years.
For the Built Environment:
1. Civic Blueprint: $20,000 for part-time Executive Director and continued start-up costs.
2. Filmakers Collaborative (Waltham, MA): $10,000 for finishing funds for “At Home in Utopia.”
