Grant Decisions August 1, 2007

The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation held a board meeting on August 1, 2007 and approved the following grants (all grants are to Chicago-area organizations unless noted otherwise).

For Arts:
1. Arts & Business Council of Chicago: $25,000 for general operations.

For the Built Environment:
1. The Cultural Landscape Foundation: $20,000 to help start this project.

2. Designs with Dignity: $25,000 for general operations.

3. Landmarks Illinois: $57,500 for their awards event.

4. LISC: $60,000 for the 2007 Chicago Neighborhood Design Awards.

5. National Association of Olmsted Parks (Washington, D.C.): $25,000 for a strategic plan.

6. Richard Nickel Committee: $25,000 for the writing and publication of the book, The Complete Architecture of Adler & Sullivan.

7. Viva Lundin Productions: $20,000 for production costs of the documentary film, Jens Jensen: Harmonious World.

For Economic Opportunity:
1. Center for Economic Progress: $30,000 for general operations.

For General funding:
1. Alliance For Community Peace: $5,000 for Summer Employment Youth Initiative.

2. Chicago Humanities Festival: $5,000 to support the 2007 Chicago Humanities Festival, The Climate of Concern.

3. Health and Medicine Policy Research Group: $10,000 for investigative reporting regarding the state of health care services for the poor and the general public.

4. Hiptruth Productions (New York, NY): $7,500 to support the film, Green Granny.

5. Holy Family Church: $5,000 to repair the church’s organ.

6. Music Theatre Workshop: $25,000 to support the Fabulous Females program.

7. University of Illinois at Urbana: $5,000 to bring Bunraku Theatre to the Midwest.

For Government Accountability:
1. Better Government Association: $70,000 over two years: $25,000 each year for investigative programs; and $10,000 each year for the awards program.

2. We the People Media: $15,000 for general operations.
