Grant Decisions February 6, 2008

The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation held a board meeting on February 6, 2008 and approved the following grants (all grants are to
Chicago-area organizations unless noted otherwise).

For Arts:

Audience Architects:  $10,000 for SeeChicagoDance.com, a website for promoting dance concerts to Chicago audiences.

Next Theatre Company:  $7,500 renewal grant to support Next Communities, which forges links among Evanston's and Chicago's diverse communities, using theater as the connection.

The Pew Charitable Trusts (Philadelphia, PA):  $15,000 for the Illinois Cultural Data Project, a standardized, on-line system that provides critical new services for both arts organizations and arts funders.

Redmoon Theater: $15,000 for general operations.

 

For the Built Environment:

Eighteenth Street Redevelopment Corporation:  $15,000 for plans to encourage more homeowners in Pilsen to take advantage of historic tax credits.

Foresight Design:  $15,000 for general operations.

National Alliance of Preservation Commissions (Athens, Georgia):  $2,000 for awards program to recognize the work of local preservation commissions to be presented at a national Commissions Forum that trains members on preservation issues.

National Building Museum (Washington, D.C.):  $5,000 for general operations.

Openlands:  $10,000 grant plus $10,000 matching grant for TreeKeeper program.

 

For Economic Opportunity for the Working Poor:

Inspiration Corporation:  $15,000 for the Working Poor Direct Service Fund.
