Grant Decisions June 13, 2007

The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation held a board meeting on June 13, 2007 and approved the following grants (all grants are to Chicago-area organizations unless noted otherwise).

For Arts:
1. Illinois Arts Alliance Foundation: $15,000 for general operations.

2. Kelly + Yamamoto Productions (Greenbrae, California): $15,000 in a one-to-one match for an hour-long documentary film on the Albany Park Theater Project.

3. National Museum of Mexican Art: $10,000 for the Sor Juana Festival.

4. Shanti Foundation: $7,500 for the conference, “Building Peaceful Communities Through the Arts.”

5. Thodos Dance Chicago: $5,000 for the New Dances 2007 festival.

For the Built Environment:
1. Friends of the Chicago River: $15,000 for capacity building for the Bridgehouse and Chicago River Museum.

2. Chicago Architecture Foundation: $10,000 for the Strategic Advancement Initiative.

3. Dustin Griffin: $5,000 towards publication of a book on the writings of architect Walter Burley Griffin.

4. Logan Square Neighborhood Association: $15,000 for the Lathrop Homes Training on Development and Design.

5. Lost and Found Productions: $10,000 for the production of an hour-long documentary film on the work of landscape architect Alfred Caldwell.

For Economic Opportunity:
1. National Student Partnerships (Washington, D.C.): $10,000 for support for student volunteers to bring access to services, opportunities for employment, self-sufficiency and personal success to the area’s working poor.

2. South Side Community Federal Credit Union: $15,000 for general operations.

For Museums:
1. Indo-American Heritage Museum: $8,500 for website and public relations.
